COOKING INA'S CORDON BLEU EMBUTIDO

I am trying to keep up on my food blogging as possible as I am required to do some extra productive job. Not to mention some of the food events that I require myself to attend to, of course to keep up with the latest in the industry and meet up with some fellow food bloggers and with the food industry icons.  Today's featured recipe is especially made for kids. I received another request from my page about what recipe can be prepared for kids as "baon" or packed lunch. I flagged this as my assignment and I promise to post some recipe ideas that can be prepare for kids as baon. To marekoi Ms Claire Ablang, check out this easy and simple recipe that you or your super yaya can prepare for the kids as baon, worry free and hassle free. This is a plan ahead meal and can be stored in the fridge for a month as long as you keep it on your freezer. Check out the ingredients and how to prepare this easy and inexpensive dish that your kids will surely be craving for every time.

CIK CORDON BLEU EMBUTIDO
INGREDIENTS:

1 kilo ground chicken
1/2 kilo sweet ham sliced thinly
1/2 kilo cheddar cheese sliced thinly
1/2 cups shredded carrots
1/2 cups white onions sliced
1 tbs minced garlic
6 eggs beaten
1/2 cup all purpose cream
salt and pepper to taste
sugar (just a pinch to enhance the flavor)
1/2 cup melted butter
Aluminum foil for wrapping

PROCEDURE:

  1. In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and season with sugar, salt and pepper.
  2. Wrap in aluminum foil and steam for about 30 to 45 minutes.
  3. You can check out if it is cooked by poking in a toothpick in the embutido, if it comes out clean, that means the embutido is already cooked.
Wrap the embutido in aluminum foil and steam

Allow the Cordon Bleu Embutido to cool and rest a bit and it is ready to slice. You can now prepare to pack it as baon with steamed rice and its ready to go. This dish goes well with bread too. You can slice some of it and layer it to sliced pan bread or wheat bread then put some lettuce and tomatoes and you have now a super sandwich for your kids!

You can serve this as is or with dipping sauce. Ingredient for the dipping sauce - 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 2 tbs finely chopped garlic, 2 tbs calamansi extract, salt and pepper to taste. Procedure: Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and serve with embutido.

Notes:
This recipe is based on my preference as a plan ahead dish and for storing as an emergency dish which I can easily pop out of my fridge to thaw and reheat in the microwave or steam it again. This serving can be adjusted depending on your preference and requirement.
