The recently held "Mad About Mc Cormick 2014" last April 5, 2014 at the Bonifacio High Streets was such an afternoon of good food, fun and fantastic people and a great music as evening approaches. The event started as Chef Nap Sol presented his signature dishes, one of which is the "Hush Puppies". I was sorry I arrived late on the event so I wasn't able to witness how Chef Nap did his dish. Together with him on the stage was Joey as his protege. After Chef Nap presented and demonstrated his dishes, there was a musical intermission while all of us were enjoying the food sponsored by the food partners from Stella/Rocketroom. For 100 pesos, you will be able to enjoy savoury food from the food partners, unlimited tea from Mc Cormick and lotsa food samples from different Mc Cormick products.
After the intermission, Ukulele Philippines Ensembles took the center stage and showcased their skills in playing the UKULELE and even tried to spread a virus to encourage people to play the UKULELE and I think they have succeeded in me because I am convinced to learn and play it soon. Short after their performance, Ms Nina Daza Puyat Editor in -chief of Appetite Magazine took the kitchen and presented to us her very own dishes, her Tomato Salsa and Chicken and Shitake Mushrooms Quesadillas. I was drooling while watching and the same time smelling her dishes. The audience were able to get the taste when it was distributed.
Remember Daryl Shy, of Voice of the Philippines? He was there to render his country song cover and his voice was truly Voice of the Philippines. I was mesmerized while listening to him. After the fantastic performance, here comes the Kitchen Goddess herself, Ms Sabrina Artadi as she demonstrated her signature fast, easy and "Mc Cormicky" dishes.
The fun part of this event was the contest for "Selfie that Foodie" with which participants must send in their photos with Mc Cormick logo as their backdrop and upload it via Instagram. Winners were selected every after show intermission. Prizes includes, some kitchen appliance for the generous sponsors and a Mc Cormick food package.
There was Rookie Game Segment, where in pairs of Mom and child or Dad and child will do their version of what Sabrina Artadi has presented. And the winner goes to Dad and daughter tandem who presented the dish in a different twist call the Mamon Mountain with Bacon and Chocolate Syrup, such a genius Dad and child tandem.
More over, this was the most important and kilig factor ever for me. It was a great music by none other than the Wolfgang vocalist, Basti Artadi!!!(kilig) he happens to be my old time crush during college and imagine, I only got the chance to see him (after 23 years)in person, live and in flesh through this event from Mc Cormick . I really sat on the first row of the audience so I will be able to get a near and perfect photo of him. And not only that, I never let that night end without me having a photo with him and her lovely sister Sabrina. My day was complete as I enjoyed, good food, great performances and fantastic music from Basti. Some of the songs he rendered during the event: Message in a bottle-originally from "The Police", No woman No Cry-Bob Marley and "Come Together".
Announcement for the winners of Android phones were also called and I don't mind if I didn't win, I got photo souvenir from Basti and that was all that matters :)
